Dave Belanger
Operational Advisor

Dave is an Operational Adviser at Ventus, and works with portfolio companies to drive operational excellence across areas such as quality, engineering and manufacturing technology. Dave previously spent 36 years in senior operational roles at Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), and was a key part of Irwin Edenzon's executive team at Ingalls Shipbuilding

Dave joined submarine and aircraft carrier shipbuilder Newport News Shipbuilding in 1985, becoming Director of Quality & Technical Services, responsible for quality management systems and technical support processes across welding engineering, non-destructive testing and laboratory services. 

In 2009, he was appointed as Vice President of Quality & Process Excellence in Irwin Edenzon’s team at Ingalls Shipbuilding, responsible for design and execution of quality and process excellence programs. Dave then transitioned to Vice President of Quality & Engineering, leading Ingalls’ quality, ship design engineering, integrated logistics support and planning yard programs.

Dave retired from Ingalls in 2021 after 36 years. 

He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an MSc in Engineering Management from The George Washington University, and an MSc in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia
